The beauty of Tang Villa, crown of Perak

The Tang dynasty was China’s most glorious and prosperous. The uniqueness of the era’s architectural art is defined by their respective characteristics; each is exquisite, luxurious, gorgeous or austere and each is with its own distinctive charm and allure.

Tang Villa of Nirvana Memorial Park (Ipoh) is a “window” into the Tang era. From the roofs to the walls, the columns to the beams, the stairs to the great doors; all of which perfectly recreate the prosperous Tang dynasty.

Tang Villa, as its name implies, is a columbarium for the Tang people (Chinese) which at the same time is also dedicated in good faith to the people of Perak by Nirvana Asia Group. The beauty of Tang Villa lies in the fact that it encompasses both classical Oriental elegance and modern stylish elements. It combines the essence of Tang culture with contemporary mediums, lending to an air of majesty and elegance, without compromising on simplicity and comfort at the same time.

The Beauty of Tang Villa | Emphasis on Filial Piety

Filial piety has been a traditional virtue for the Chinese for over five thousand years, and is also the most important moral code of ethics on which the Chinese nation attaches great significance. To live in the world is to act in filial piety; respecting your parents, honouring your ancestors and passing on cultural heritage is the ultimate state of filial piety.

Nirvana Asia Group promotes the concept of pre-planning and fulfilling life with the goal of “emphasizing filial piety”. The concept is also fully incorporated in every detail of the columbarium such as the wall tiles, elaborate door fixtures, auspicious architectural layouts and more to convey the notion of filial piety.

The mythical dragon is important in Chinese culture, symbolizing auspiciousness. It is believed that the dragon helps in ward off evil and averting misfortune; helping to overcome natural disasters and bestowing good fortune. Therefore, there is no shortage of dragon motifs in ancient architecture, most notably on sculptural decorations of traditional buildings.

Both ends of Tang Villa’s roof ridges curve upward in the form resembling fishtails called Chiwen (also known as the dragon’s son). A sacred beast in Chinese mythology, it is named for one of Nine Sons of the dragon who enjoys swallowing fire and has the significance of warding evil influences and averting misfortunes as well as protection from fires, floods and typhoons. Aside from this, it also protects the safety of the of its homestead, bringing prosperity of the people of its homestead.

The Beauty of Tang Villa | Peace of Mind

The freshness, elegance, simplicity and comfort of Zen provides people with quiet spaces that lend a sense of emotional calm and freedom from mundane and worldly matters. As such, it has been very popular among contemporary folk in recent years. The modern Oriental columbarium is designed to include dark building materials with warm and soft lighting to evoke the beauty of Oriental Zen.

The exquisite wooden grille design is used at the exterior to convey a sense of space and to let in natural light to create a Zen-like tranquility. Dark brown, rose gold and brown are used to convey calmness and a meditative quality which has the power to heal and sooth the soul.

The Beauty of Tang Villa | Thoughtful Care

Tang Villa is situated in a strategic location with a majestic 30 feet high statue of Amitabha Buddha beckoning visitors as they drive up to the columbarium, followed by the magnificent Golden Temple looming overhead like a glorious scene opening up from a perspective view.

Nirvana Asia Group caters to the needs of the modern people for comfortable spaces, while at the same time adding thoughtful design in the building’s landscape to satisfy every visitor’s needs. The columbarium has two levels each for the upper and lower levels and the first floor of the main hall can be conveniently accessed from the main entrance. There are also entrances and exits at the side of the hall, allowing visitors to also conveniently enter from the side. There is a third entrance and exit at the rear of the main hall, which provides direct access to the second floor. This thoughtful design was conceived to ensure senior citizens with mobility issues can directly enter the temple without needing to use the stairs.

The Final Portrait

The Final Portrait

Many people tend to think they don’t need to have their pictures taken or they dislike the notion because they are too old. Later however, when the time comes to prepare for the funeral, there simply isn’t a suitable or presentable photo that can be used as a funeral portrait.
