RHYME OF LIFE: A PRICELESS TREASURE OF LOVE

“The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.”

Nirvana Center Kuala Lumpur built their unique columbarium that is touted to be unlike any other found in Malaysia – the Rhyme of Life, embodying American journalist and novelist Chuck Palahniuk’s quote above.

Designed to resemble a bibliothèque or library, the Rhyme of Life integrates culture, style and six-star facilities with humanistic expressionism to create a place of eternal rest with an immersive yet meditative ambiance.

The luxurious air-conditioned and marble-floored sanctuary is furnished and decorated in the European style and illuminated by crystal chandeliers and soft ambient lighting.

A faux fireplace, together with replicas of Rodin’s The Thinker and a bust of Napoleon further enhance the western accents with a touch of culture and artistry.

Its uniqueness, however, lies in its niche compartments, discreetly hidden behind leather-bound tomes – lending the walls the appearance of shelves upon shelves of classical volumes – equating each life to a story to be preserved for posterity.

Each leather-bound tome itself is in fact a subtly-disguised storage case in which treasured mementoes and keepsakes such as letters, photos, trinkets and other significant items can be kept to ensure the memory and the love we have for our departed loved ones live on.

To ensure these treasured items are safely kept, each niche compartment can be secured through a concealed locking mechanism with an individualised key.

The Rhyme of Life is a rarity among columbaria with unique super double and super single niche compartments with 13 individual designs to choose from.

It is the only one in South-East Asia that features an exterior, middle and interior “court” or compartment space – representing the transitioning of three generations, signifying each generation passing on their legacy to the next.

Love and grief are different facets of the same aspect in this journey we call life. It takes great courage to love someone deeply because there’s a small part of us that is aware that our time here is finite. That is the reason why love is a treasure beyond price.

The Rhyme of Life not only celebrates this love through its evocative design as a repository and treasure vault of life stories and remembrance, it also emphasises that in the inevitability of loss, love lives on in the memories we hold dear because treasured memories remembered are hearts reunited again.

In keeping with its concept as a five-star one-stop centre dedicated to honouring life and memorialising departed loved ones, Nirvana Asia Group’s largest integrated bereavement care centre Nirvana Center Kuala Lumpur (Nirvana 2) houses facilities such as state-of-the-art memorial parlours, a comfortable café lounge, modern exhibition and event spaces, a spectacular Buddhist temple, and various multi-denominational columbarium suites with an array of themes.
